My previous background before nursing was working as a psw working in different care settings such as group homes. I also did the paramedic program. Although my desire was always to become a nurse. I’m graduated from Georgian College in 2019 with honours in the RPN program.

My son was 3 years old and my daughter was 4 months when I decided to go back to school for nursing. I was able to do the program part time while working and raising my kids. I also have phlebotomy background working at Life Labs in Owen Sound. After graduating nursing I worked in Day Surgery as well as med/surg for a while. Which gave me great experience helping me acquire some great skills for my nursing career.

I also have a background working in a nursing home but the hours were difficult to manage with having a young family. Not too long ago, I came across a posting for the Advanced Foot Care nurse position and It immediately appealed to me. The hours were great, I get to know my clients on an individual basis which is very important to me. And I also get to make a difference by providing medical and therapeutic care.

I am looking forward to being a member of this company and providing the best possible care I can. “ I advance in our area Foot Care Clinic, work on the Indigenous Reserve as well as mobile home visits.
